Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the monoplata or armbar after sweeping the opponent using the omoplata. Lucas pulls guard and immediately goes for the lasso on one side. He shifts his hips in the opposite side of the lasso and places that same side shin under the armpit. Lucas now pulls the opponent down to make him post on the mat, he immediately traps the posted arm. The leg that was under the arm is now brought up so Lucas can start going for the omoplata. As Lucas is going for the omoplata, he maintains the grip on the collar. The grip on the collar allows Lucas to sweep the opponent over as he pinches his knees together. Once the opponent is swept, Lucas ends up on the monoplata position. He releases the grip on the collar and grips the elbow to finish. If the opponent attempts to escape by turning the arm, then Lucas immediately switches to the armbar.
