Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get to the mount position or side control, after attempting to sweep the opponent with an overhead sweep. Lucas breaks the opponents grips and prevents him from re-establishing them. He moves in for a foot trap to make the opponent take a step back. As soon as the opponent does so, Lucas places his foot on the hip and guard pulls going immediately to the lasso. In this variation, Lucas attempts to pull the opponent in so he can lift him up and sweep with the overhead sweep. In this scenario, Lucas can’t pull the opponent in. He instead posts his foot on the mat and uses it to push the opponent to the side using the de la riva hook. He sweeps the opponent and hugs the leg to get to the side control. If the opponent attempts to turn around and face Lucas, Lucas under hooks the arm and gets the mount control.
