Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get a triangle choke after attempting to sweep the opponent using the de la riva, but the opponent resists. Lucas starts with the de la riva controlling the pants and the same side collar. The opponent tries to remove the collar grip and Lucas takes advantage of this by putting the opponent off balance to the side. The opponent reacts by coming back in and stays tight. Lucas now under hooks the de la riva side leg and switches his inside leg hook to the opponent’s far side leg. He once again pushes the opponent to the side and then uses the inside foot to push the opponent. This creates enough space for Lucas to place his outside leg on the opponent’s hips while still controlling the pants. He uses the foot on the hip to raise his hips up, so he can slide his bottom leg out and bring it over the opponent’s far side shoulder. Lucas now locks his legs together and finishes with a triangle choke.
