Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get a triangle choke, after attempting to sweep the opponent. Lucas starts with the de la riva controlling the pants on one side and controlling the sleeve with the other hand. He pushes and pulls the opponent to unbalance and so he can create space to bring his lasso over the opponent's arm. He now places his inside foot on the hip and uses it to raise his hips. This allows him to slide his de la riva side leg behind the leg to the other leg. In this variation, as soon as Lucas slides his leg across, the opponent immediately moves to the side and posts with his hand on the mat. Lucas uses that initial momentum to go inverted. Once the opponent sits on the mat, Lucas slides his outside leg out and brings it over the opponent’s shoulder to lock in the triangle choke. If the opponent lands on the shoulder when Lucas goes inverted, then he can just keep rolling back and get to the side control position.
