Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get a kneebar after attempting to sweep the opponent using the lasso. Lucas and the opponent start standing up. Lucas is controlling the collar and sleeve. He goes to pull guard and immediately lassos the arm. The opponent attempts to pass by pushing Lucas’ inside leg down and starts moving to the side applying their weight on Lucas. Lucas recovers the position by rocking back and forth, this allows him to use the momentum to push the opponent away. With the opponent pushed away, Lucas faces the opponent once again while still maintaining the lasso on the arm and the collar grip. In this scenario, Lucas attempts to sweep the opponent with an overhead sweep but the opponent defends by standing up. Lucas instead goes inverted and overhooks the opponent’s leg. He pushes the opponent forward in another attempt to sweep but the opponent blocks. Lucas now loops his outside leg over the opponent’s. He releases the grip on the sleeve so he can turn to the side. As the opponent follows, Lucas locks his legs together to finish with a kneebar.
