Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to sweep the opponent using the spider guard and lasso. Lucas starts by controlling the collar and sleeve. He moves in and pulls guard on the opponent. Immediately after pulling guard he places one foot on the opponent's bicep. When the opponent goes to grip the pants, Lucas immediately grips the sleeve. The opponent attempts to pass by pushing Lucas‘s bottom leg down. In this variation, when the opponent attempts to push the leg down Lucas is able to grip the sleeve and pull the arm off. He then circles his leg over and through the arm for the lasso position. Lucas is now with the spider and lasso guard. The leg that was in the spider guard is now brought in and placed over the same side hip as the lasso. Lucas turns to the side and under hooks the near side leg. He now bends his knees to load the opponent onto himself, and then pushes the opponent away to sweep him over.
