Open Guard to Omoplata Sweep to Side Control (Fundamentals)

Professor Edson Oliveira demonstrates a sweep from open guard to side control. He starts by breaking the opponent's grip and scooping their leg. Edson then pushes off with his outside leg and brings his hips up as if he's going for the omoplata, to create an angle for the sweep. He uses his shin to sweep the opponent and quickly places his hand on the floor to maintain control. Lucas then brings his leg under the opponent's arm and pushes their legs to the side to secure side control.
