Toreada Guard Pass Counter to Side Control Escape (Fundamentals)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a counter to the Toreada guard pass and a subsequent escape from side control. He starts in a position where the opponent is attempting to pass his guard using the Toreada pass. The opponent is able to pass and get in a side control position. Lucas maintains a good posture and frames on the opponent's shoulder to create space. He then bridges and shrimps out to create more distance, bringing his knees up and placing his foot on the opponent's hip to re-establish guard. Lucas then shows how to defend against the opponent's attempts to re-pass the guard and ultimately escapes to a standing position.
