Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the back starting with the De La Riva and then uses the berimbolo. Lucas starts with the De La Riva and uses it to push the opponent away to unbalance him. Lucas immediately under hooks the near side leg and gets inverted to the berimbolo. He reaches for the opponent’s back to prevent him from escaping. Lucas then grips the far side leg so he can place his shin behind it. In this scenario, the opponent tries to escape by stepping over Lucas. Lucas immediately resets and goes for the same technique once again. Lucas now reaches for the far side leg and the opponent once again tries to escape but Lucas just follows. Lucas now kicks his legs out and takes the back.
