Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a sequence starting from deep De La Riva guard, transitioning to X-guard, and then attacking the back. The initial steps involve controlling the opponent's pants and using elbow and leg movements to create off-balance. From there, foot placement is key to transition into X-guard. If the opponent postures up, switching grips to the pants or belt is shown. When the opponent pushes a leg down, a switch to control the other leg is demonstrated to square up. The sequence shows pushing the opponent forward to take the back with double hooks, or transitioning to collar attacks. If pushing forward is not possible, pushing to the side can lead to back takes or leg drag positions.
