Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a variation on escaping from the de la riva with lasso, when the opponent grips the collar to attack. The opponent has the de la riva and is also controlling the lapel with the lasso. The opponent pushes his lasso hook past Lucas’ hip. Lucas starts to defend immediately gripping the lasso side sleeve and lowers his base. The opponent now grips Lucas’ collar in an attempt to attack or sweep. As the opponent pulls Lucas, Lucas defends by placing his knee in between the opponent’s legs. Since the opponent no longer has the grip on the pants, Lucas takes advantage of this to pass to the side control. Depending on the opponent’s reaction, Lucas can pass with the knee cut pass or the smash pass to the side control.
