Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the back or side control, after the opponent defends the berimbolo. Lucas starts with the de la riva and pulls the collar out. He uses his far side leg to unbalance the opponent, so he can feed the lapel under the leg to his de la riva hook hand. Lucas uses his far side leg to constantly unbalance the opponent every time they try to remove the grip on the collar. Lucas now attempts to go for the berimbolo, but the opponent reacts by moving away. Lucas then switches the placement of his knees so he can transition to a leg drag. From here, Lucas can stay on the side control or take the back if the opponent tries to roll.
