Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get to the side control or back control after attempting to take the opponent down with a double and the opponent sprawls. Lucas does for the double leg takedown and the opponent sprawls and defends. Lucas tries to escape by turning to one side and then the other, but is not able to. He instead slides underneath the opponent and goes to the half guard. From the half guard, he then comes up on his knees. He uses his outside hand to loop around the back of the opponent’s leg. Lucas rolls forwards for the sweep and then depending on the opponent’s reaction, Lucas can go to the side control or to the back take.
