Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to take the back and apply a double lapel choke when an opponent successfully frees his arm from the omoplata. In this scenario, Lucas secures a far side omoplata and sits up with a grip over the back, but his opponent is able to free his arm from the hold before Lucas can apply the submission. Lucas responds by keeping his weight on the opponent and maintaining his grip on the far lapel while reaching over the opponent's shoulder to grip the same lapel with his other hand. He then drags his opponent backwards and applies the top hook before rolling his opponent back to the other side. Lucas then completes the double lapel choke by gripping the other lapel and pushing the opponent downward before passing his leg over the shoulder to apply leverage for the choke.
