Half Guard to Knee Shield to Leg Drag Sweep to Submission or Backtake (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a strong defense from the bottom of half guard that transitions directly into an attack. The core of the defense is to prevent the opponent from flattening Lucas out by pushing the opponent's head away and bringing in the knee shield. Lucas then slides his shoulder back to gain leverage and open the opponent's knee. From this position, he scoops his knee behind the opponent's leg, traps their leg toward his shoulder, and establishes a dominant grip. Lucas is able to sweep with a leg drag. From here, he is able to control the opponent to secure a submission like the Ezekiel choke or transitions to Kata Gatame, or he can transition to a back take.
