Professor Frederico Silva teaches how to apply the kimura submission from the closed guard when the opponent tries to posture up. Frederico starts by breaking the opponent’s posture down. He grips the back of the belt and the head with the other hand to prevent the opponent from posturing up. If the opponent tries to come up, Frederico grips the arm by the wrist and brings his other arm over and under the opponent’s arm. Frederico grips his own wrist and pulls the arm back as he turns his hips to get the kimura submission.
