Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to defend from a knee cut pass and take the back or takedown, after attempting a tornado sweep. The opponent goes for a knee cut pass and Lucas starts to defend using the knee shield. He then reaches underneath his own leg to grip the opponent’s pants near the foot. Lucas releases the grip on the collar and uses that hand to also grip the other leg. He gets inverted and spins underneath the opponent in an attempt to sweep. In this scenario, the opponent prevents the sweep by posting forward with both hands. Lucas pushes the opponent forward by placing his foot on the waist and kicks forward. This allows Lucas to stand up while still controlling the pants. From here, Lucas can jump to the back take or he can step to the side and extends one leg to take the opponent down by making them trip over the leg.
