Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to sweep the opponent starting from the knee shield. Lucas starts with the opponent trying to pass and uses the knee shield to block the opponent. He controls the sleeve and cross grips the same side collar. Lucas sits up and drops his knee so he can under hook that same side and grips the back of the pants in an attempt to sweep by going to the deep half guard. The opponent defends by blocking Lucas with his knee. Lucas immediately goes for another sweep. He moves back a little so he can reach under the opponent’s leg to grip the belt or in this case, the lapel. The opponent once again tries to defend by posting his leg out. Lucas then slides his outside leg under the opponent’s same side shin. He lifts up on the leg as he pulls the opponent to complete the sweep.
