Description

Professor Edilson Nascimento shows how to get a lapel choke from the side control position. Edilson starts in the side control position applying shoulder pressure and controlling the hips. He makes sure to keep the opponent flat on their back. Edilson now starts sliding his bottom hand down so he can grip the lapel near the neck. Once he establishes the grip, he moves his hand up the lapel to get a deeper grip. He now needs the opponent to turn into him. He achieves this by under hooking the outside arm and pulls the opponent in by the arm, as he also raises his leg to create space. From this position, Edilson now leans into the opponent and brings his leg over the opponent’s head to finish the lapel choke.
