Side Control to Mount to Armbar Variation (Fundamentals)

September 20, 2018 on 12:23 280 4

Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to transition from the side control position to the armbar submission, when the opponent tries to bridge. From the side control position, Lucas reaches over the opponent’s opposite knee and pulls it down towards him. Once he brings the knee down, Lucas can bring his leg over the opponent’s legs and get the mount position. As Lucas is in the mount, the opponent tries to escape by bridging to one side. When the opponent bridges Lucas slides one foot under the opponent, opposite to the arm he is using to bridge. Lucas then grabs the opponent’s arm and brings his leg over for the armbar. Lucas has both his knees on the mat and he looks in the direction of the opponent’s legs to spin him over and finish the armbar with the opponent below him.
