Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to defend a single-leg takedown and return to closed guard. When the opponent tries a single leg, the collar is kept held and their head is pushed down. The foot is planted on the ground and the collar is pushed while they try to lift the leg. A light step to the side where the collar is controlled is used to pull guard. The hips are lifted up to go to closed guard. The stance should be low with the hands ready to block. Grips are made to make it harder for them to shoot. A diagonal step is used to close the gap and the hips are lifted to close guard, with the ankles flexed.
