Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to counter a sit up guard by passing and getting the knee on belly. Lucas is standing and the opponent moves into the sit up guard position. Lucas immediately grips the opponent’s lapel behind the head. He uses his other hand to grip the leg next to the knee. Lucas now circles the sit up guard leg over the opponent’s leg and immediately steps back with his other leg. He falls back with the opponent and maintains pressure. From here, Lucas now switches the grip to the other leg and shrimps back so he can then go for the knee on belly.
