Special guest from Japan, Kenya Yamanaka, shows how to get the mount position after defending the opponent’s sweep attempt. The opponent is using the sit up guard and Kenya goes for the underhook. He uses his other hand to grip the opponent’s opposite side knee. The opponent tries to sweep Kenya, but Kenya uses his head to post on the mat and pushes the opponent’s head in the opposite direction. In this scenario, Kenya tries to transition to the side control but the opponent defends. Kenya instead hooks the opponent’s foot and pushes it to the other side where he can then get the mount position.
