Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to sweep the opponent using the X guard. Lucas starts with the opponent in his closed guard. The opponent starts to attempt to open the guard, but Lucas transitions to the shallow lasso and spider. The lasso side foot is now used to hook the opponent's same side leg near the ankle. Lucas uses the spider grip to unbalance the opponent allowing him to lift the opponent’s leg. As the leg comes down, Lucas gets the one leg x position. Lucas now transitions to the spider guard and the opponent defends by stepping back with his leg. Lucas pulls the opponent back and goes back to the single leg x. He pushes and pulls the opponent to make them react by applying forward pressure. He takes advantage of this to further push the opponent to the side. This lifts the opponent’s foot and Lucas under hooks it and goes to the x guard. Lucas pushes the opponent to the side and the opponent posts on the mat. Lucas grips that sleeve and the opponent tries to turn back to grip the collar. Lucas takes advantage of this and pushes the arm away as he lifts the opponent up with the x guard. From here, he lifts the opponent and sweeps him over the head.
