Professor Lucas has the opponent in the close card. The opponent starts to open Lucas’s guard and Lucas takes that opportunity to transition to the lasso and spider. The lasso side foot is now used to hook the opponent's same side leg near the ankle. Lucas uses the spider grip to unbalance the opponent. This allows him to lift the opponent’s leg so it can slide down transition to the one leg X. He pushes on the spider side arm to unbalance the opponent. He now raises his lasso leg, lifting the opponent’s leg to get to the one leg X. With the opponent leaning to the side, Lucas uses his bottom leg to kick the opponent's knee out. This allows Lucas to come up and go to the knee on belly. In a different scenario, if the opponent stands up before Lucas is able to kick the knee out, Lucas goes to a spider guard and once again unbalances the opponent. This allows him to push the opponent's knee out to take the opponent down. From here, Lucas can go to the mound position, or go to the side control.
