Professor Lucas Lepri talks about mount control concepts and how to get the armbar by attempting an americana submission. Lucas has the mount control and the opponent is defending by keeping their arms up and protecting their neck. Lucas pushes the top arm down by controlling the elbow and wrist. From here, Lucas can go for the americana submission but the opponent defends by reaching over with their other arm. Lucas takes advantage of this to transition to the s mount. This allows him to hook the opponent’s top arm. He now isolates and controls that arm, brings his leg over the head and finishes with the armbar submission.
