Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to sweep the opponent, after first attempting a butterfly sweep. Instead of using traditional grips for the butterfly sweep, Lucas reaches for the opponent’s belt and grips it in the middle. Lucas extends his arm and uses his elbow on the chest to control the opponent. He now grips the sleeve with his same side hand. He pulls the opponent in using the belt grip, places his elbow on the mat and raises the opponent up with his butterfly hook. Lucas attempts to sweep but the opponent defends by posting his leg out. Lucas counters by immediately under hooking the leg and transitions to the one leg x controlling the same side sleeve. He now pulls the opponent forward as he rolls over the shoulder to sweep.
