Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a variation of a pass where he attempts to go for a knee cut, but the opponent prevents it. The opponent reacts by under hooking the far side leg. This prevents Lucas from using the knee cut to pass. In this variation, Lucas slides his inside leg over the opponent, placing it on the mat. He makes sure to control the opponent by gripping the collar or arm. When the timing is right, Lucas slides his over leg over. This puts Lucas on the side. Depending on the opponent’s reaction, Lucas can get the Kimura or armbar submission.
