Butterfly Sweep Attempt to Sweep to Mount (Intermediate)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a butterfly guard sweep attempt that transitions into the mount control. In this variation, Lucas attempts to sweep using the butterfly guard but the opponent prevents it by posting with their hand close to Lucas. Because the opponent’s weight is close, Lucas can take advantage of this and release the initial sleeve grip and use that arm to trap the opponent’s arm. Lucas emphasizes on using his elbow to pull the arm in. He rolls on his shoulder and sweeps the opponent over finishing with the mount control.
