Butterfly Sweep Attempt to Back Take (Intermediate)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a butterfly guard sweep attempt that transitions into a back take. The technique begins by controlling and crossing the opponent's arm, immediately after breaking any initial grip. A key detail is to glue the opponent's arm close to the chest. A hook is then used to control the opponent's movements. When the opponent tries to push away or create space, the leg is pushed down, forcing them to base their arm. This allows for a sweep, followed by bringing the opponent back and securing the back control by pinning the shoulder. Maintaining control of the opponent's sleeve or wrist is important throughout the transition to the back.
