Professor André Gois shows how to take the opponent down using the Ouchi Gari, after breaking the collar grip. The opponent starts by gripping André’s collar. André slides his arm under the opponent’s and grips the same side collar. He proceeds to break the opponent’s grip on the collar while still maintaining the collar grip on the opponent. André now uses that grip to pull the opponent. When the opponent steps forward, André moves in and circles his near side leg behind the opponent’s. As he circles the leg in, he drops his knee to the ground and pushes the opponent back. This motion takes the opponent down. Immediately after the opponent goes down, André moves his far side leg in and uses his knee to block the opponent from closing the guard. From here, André can now pass.
