Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get a north south choke, after first attempting a mounted guillotine. Lucas and the opponent are standing and both go in for a tie up. The opponent keeps their elbow tight. Lucas ducks his shoulder under the elbow and slides his arm under and around to grip the shoulder, elevating the opponent’s arm. Lucas places his other hand behind the opponent’s neck and snaps the opponent down. As soon as he pulls on the opponent, he immediately cups the chin with the snap down hand. Lucas now uses his shoulder to turn the opponent over into the side control position while still maintaining the control on the chin. In this scenario, Lucas is not able to keep the grip on the chin due to his hand sliding off or the opponent defending by looking up. As soon as his hand comes off, Lucas shifts his weight back and controls the arm to prevent the opponent from turning. He now transitions to the north south position. From here, Lucas now connects his hands together and finishes with the choke.
