Description

Professor Lucas Lepri explains how to execute an arm drag against a kneeling opponent and complete a back take. Beginning with the opponent kneeling in Lucas’ butterfly guard, Lucas holds one of the opponent’s sleeves with his same-side hand. He takes his same-side eg out from between his opponent’s knees as he takes his far-side hand and reaches across to cup the back of his opponent’s elbow. If the opponent is gripping the pants, Lucas executes the arm drag and kicks his leg out to simultaneously break the grip. Leaving his remaining leg in between his opponent’s legs, Lucas can now release the grips to post one arm on the floor so he can come up and over the opponent’s back, inserting his other hook and reaching under the opponent’s armpit to grip the same-side collar. Lucas shifts his weight to force his opponent off of his knees and rolls onto his back, pulling the opponent with him. Now Lucas applies the seatbelt grip by reaching his other arm over the opponent’s shoulder, making a fist on his chest, and covering the fist with his other hand.
