Description

Professor Frederico Silva teaches how to get to the side control position, after defending and escaping from the back control. The opponent is controlling Fredericos’ back and he immediately controls the sleeve and shoulder of the arm that is next to the head. As the opponent pulls Frederico back, he bridges back and uses his foot to post to prevent the opponent from taking him to the side. Frederico releases one of the hooks by kicking out his leg or using his hand to remove it. He starts to move his hips out to start escaping and the opponent tries to come up. As the opponent is coming up, Frederico slides his elbow in as he moves his hips to the side to create space. From here, Frederico under hooks the leg and traps it with his legs so he can go to the deep half guard.
