Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a back take escape when in the turtle position to the side control position. The opponent begins with one hook in and a seat belt grip while Lucas is in the turtle position. Lucas protects his neck with one hand and uses the other hand on the knee of the opponent’s hook. Lucas rolls his opponent over the shoulder opposite the hook and uses his leg to stop the opponent from dragging him to the other side. Lucas places his head on the mat and switches his grips, gripping the material on the pants of the hook with the same-side hand and protecting his neck with the other hand. In this scenario, the opponent hooks Lucas’ leg preventing him from kicking the leg out. Lucas switches his grips on the knee and places his other elbow in between himself and the opponent. The opponent then reacts by coming on top and tries to go to the knee cut pass. Lucas blocks him and transitions to the deep half guard. From the deep half guard, Lucas finds a way to hook the opponents leg and places it over his own shin. He he pushes forward and comes on top. From there Lucas gets to the side control position.
