Professor Frederico Silva shows how to escape from a bear hug from behind when the opponent traps both of the arms. The opponent has both of Frederico's arms trapped. Frederico turns his palms up and squats down as he raises his arms. He then picks one side to step behind the opponent. The hands are now placed behind each of the opponent’s knees. Frederico now uses his foot behind the opponent to trip him backwards as he lifts on the legs. From here, he then transitions to the side control position.
