Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the closed guard when the opponent starts going for a leg attack. Lucas is in the opponent’s closed guard and keeps a good posture. The opponent under hooks the leg, connects his hands together and starts sliding his leg down to attack Lucas’ knee. When the opponent brings his other leg over, Lucas immediately slides his hand in between and controls the hip to neutralize the opponent. His outside knee is now placed behind the opponent’s leg. Lucas now drops to the mat. He uses his legs to open the opponent’s and starts escaping. From here, Lucas can now go to the side control position or take the back if the opponent turns away.
