Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get the kneebar submission after attempting an armbar from the closed guard. Lucas breaks the opponent’s posture in the closed guard and traps the arm. He uses his other hand to under hook the opponent’s opposite leg from the trapped arm. Lucas then opens his guard and slides his hips to the side so he start climbing up the opponent with his legs. Once his legs are high enough, Lucas brings one leg over the opponent’s head and tries to finish with the armbar. The opponent defends and slides his arm out. Lucas instead keeps bringing his leg over and places it behind the opponent’s leg. He reaches for the ankle and brings the leg to the opposite side, forcing the opponent to turn. Lucas now places the foot next to his head and brings his leg over the opponent's leg finishing with the knee bar.
