Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the back control from the closed guard. Lucas starts with the opponent in his closed guard. He grips one of the opponent’s sleeve over the top with both hands. He pushes the arm up to break the grip on the collar. Lucas now circles the opponent’s arm under both his own arms. He releases one grip and uses his free hand to grip the same side arm behind the elbow. Lucas now pushes the arm across. The grip from behind the elbow is now released and Lucas reaches over the opponent’s back to grip the other side near the armpit. He now open’s his guard and hip escapes to adjust. Lucas keeps adjusting until the opponent has his back on him. From here, Lucas adjusts his grips and finishes taking the back.
