Description

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to finish a back take from the closed guard with a double lapel choke. The opponent is in Lucas’ closed guard and is gripping both of the lapels. Lucas now grips one of the opponent’s sleeve with his opposite hand. He slides his other hand under the arm of the side he is gripping and grips his own wrist. Lucas now uses his legs to bring the opponent forward as he extends the opponent’s sleeve up above his own head, breaking the opponent’s grip. The sleeve that is gripped is now brought to the opposite side, towards the mat. As Lucas brings the arm over, he also hip escapes in the opposite direction he pushed the arm. He closes his legs together and uses the hand that was gripping his own wrist to bring it over the opponent’s back and grips the lapel. The opponent reacts by bringing his leg up and tries to face Lucas. In this scenario, Lucas is unable to reach the opponent’s leg to establish a grip. Instead, Lucas unlocks his legs and comes up to his elbow, coming up and over the opponent to insert both leg hooks. He brings the opponent back to the mat and submits the opponent with a double lapel choke.
