Johnny Tamma a special guest at Lucas Lepri Jiu Jitsu Academy teaches a sweep to armbar submission using a Worm Guard variation. The opponent is standing and Johnny has the closed guard controlling the collar and the lapel. He then opens his guard and pinches his knees together to prevent the opponent from posturing up. Johnny then turn his hip to the side so he can reach for the opponent’s opposite leg and under hooks it. The lapel is then fed to that hand. Johnny’s outside leg is now used as a pendulum and swung around so he can hook it on the opponent's far side leg. In this scenario, the opponent steps back to prevent Johnny from establishing his hook. Johnny bridges up so he can place his leg over the opponent’s knee and by doing so, he can establish his other hook. Once he sinks his other hook, Johnny then sweeps the opponent back and get the armbar submission.
