Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to pass the de la riva when the opponent tries to defend by circling his leg up. Lucas goes for the pants control by gripping below the knees. As he pushes both legs down and steps back, the opponent tries to recompose circling his leg around. Lucas immediately reacts by pushing the leg out and slides his other hand over the same leg near the hip. He now dives under the leg and lays his body perpendicular to the opponent’s. Lucas finishes the pass by coming up to his knee and reaches with his outside hand to the cross collar. From here, Lucas passes to the side control.
