Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to pass the de la riva when the opponent under hooks the leg. Lucas goes for the pants control by gripping below the knees. In this variation, the opponent immediately under hooks Lucas’ near side leg. Lucas slightly turns his knee to the inside and slides the knee out to make it face the opponent. Lucas now pushes both legs down and the opponent reacts by circling his leg in. Lucas immediately reacts by pushing the leg out and slides his other hand over the same leg near the hip. He now dives under the leg and lays his body perpendicular to the opponent’s. In this scenario, the opponent still has the under hook on the leg and tries to go for the 50/50 guard. Lucas scoots back so he can circle his leg out. He then uses his other knee to push the leg out. From here, Lucas comes up and leg drags the opponent. He then passes to the side control position.
