Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the back after attempting to sweep the opponent by pulling guard with the de la riva. Lucas starts by controlling the collar and the tricep on the other side. He pushes and pulls the opponent to make him step forward. Once the opponent steps forward, Lucas pulls guard and immediately goes for the de la riva hook. Instead of facing the opponent, Lucas moves to the side and places his other foot on the opponent’s hip. Lucas now pulls the opponent up and attempts to sweep, but the opponent keeps their base to defend. Lucas now pushes the opponent away and sits up to feed the lapel behind the opponent’s leg. He leans back once again in another attempt to sweep the opponent over his shoulders. The opponent reacts by posting out. Lucas spins around and comes up to control the back. From here, Lucas takes the back control and falls to the mat with the opponent. In another scenario, if the opponent posts closer to Lucas, Lucas puts his other foot on the hip and sweeps the opponent to the side. From here, Lucas can now pass using the knee cut pass.
