Description

Professor Frederico Silva shows how to get to the side control position, after trying to take the back starting from the De La Riva. While in the De La Riva position, Frederico switches the lapel grips and uses his other hand to under hook the opponent’s legs. He spins towards the opponent and slides his knee in between the opponent’s leg. He now pendulums to push the opponent forward so he can place his other foot behind the opponent’s knee. He reaches for the back of the pants with one hand and the opponent’s leg with the other hand. Frederico pushes forward so he can slide his other leg out and places it behind the opponent. He can now pull the opponent to the side to take the back. If the opponent defends, then Frederico can go to the side control.
