Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the back or mount position, using the berimbolo starting from de la riva. Lucas starts with the de la riva and uses his feet to unbalance the opponent. He shifts his hips to the side so he can under hook the de la riva side leg. He uses the hook on the leg to pull himself and the opponent to the side. This allows Lucas to reach for the back of the pants. Lucas now goes inverted and pulls the opponent back to go underneath him. The opponent reacts by moving his hips away to prevent Lucas from taking the back. Lucas now uses his foot to hook the outside leg and uses his hand to help him pull the leg in. He now locks his feet together and rolls the opponent forwards. If the opponent keeps rolling, Lucas can take the back. If the opponent tries to place his back on the mat, then Lucas goes to the mount control instead.
