Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a sweep from De La Riva guard when the opponent blocks him from circling his De La Riva hook to the inside. In this situation, Lucas uses his other foot to push the opponent’s thigh and establish the sit-up guard position. Lucas then posts his hand, stands with the single leg, and grips the far knee of the opponent to drive him to the mat. At this point, Lucas secures a grip on the opponent's back along with a hook on his top leg and passes into side control. From side control he stays tight to the hips of the opponent, looking to secure an underhook and stabilize the position or take the back if the opportunity arises.
