Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a sit up sweep variation from the De La Riva guard to the combat base position. Lucas starts with the De La Riva and the opponent applies pressure on him with one knee up and the other on the mat. Lucas pushes the opponent and twists his hips to create space so he can remove his De La Riva hook and place it on the opponent’s bicep. Lucas once again moves his hips to the side to create space and sits up. He brings his other leg out placing it next to the opponent’s knee that’s on the mat. Lucas then extends the foot that is on the bicep and traps the knee with his other leg. He sweeps the opponent over himself in a diagonal angle. The opponent tries to come up and Lucas prevents him by keeping both lapel grips and the foot on the bicep. Lucas then removes his foot from the bicep places it on the mat and then brings his other knee up to the combat base position. As he comes up, he maintains the grips on both lapels.
