Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the opponent’s back, after attempting to sweep the opponent. Lucas starts with the de la riva and controls the lapel so he can feed it to his other hand under the opponent’s leg. He now attempts to reach for the near side leg but the opponent defends by stepping back. Lucas reaches for the other leg and pendulums so he can switch the lapel control to his other hand. He now pendulums in an attempt to sweep the opponent, but in this scenario the opponent defends by placing his knee on the mat. Lucas now slides his arm under the opponent’s and grips the back of the pants. He pulls the pants and pushes with his near side leg. Lucas now reaches over the back to get the seat belt grips and finishes taking the back.
