Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the armbar submission by pulling guard, even if the opponent tries to defend by locking the arms together. Lucas grips the opponent’s forearm by the outside and grips the collar with the other hand. He steps to the side and places his foot on the hip, on the same side as the collar grip. Lucas now falls and pulls the opponent down with him. He now brings his leg over the head and locks his feet together. In this variation, as soon as Lucas brings his leg over, the opponent locks the arms together to defend. Lucas slides his arm through and places it on his thigh. The other arm is now used to push the opponent’s leg away. Once he has enough space, Lucas spins underneath the opponent and flips him over. From here, Lucas is able to finish the armbar.
